Recommended excursions
A pre-theatre workshop is a fantastic way to increase your student’s understanding of a show they are going to see and therefore enhance the experience as a whole. Trained, professional actors take the groups through entertaining and informative exercises that help with subject context, but also key skill areas such as confidence building and ensemble work.
This is a must for all lovers of the arts, delving behind the scenes of London’s busiest theatre complex to learn about the meticulous planning and fast-paced fun involved in staging a play. The tour includes all three auditoriums that show a range of musicals, comedy, classics and theatre-related exhibitions.
The Globe is an Elizabethan replica of the playhouse Shakespeare wrote for, and is dedicated to the exploration of his work. Students can take a theatre tour to learn more about this celebrated venue, and there’s a chance to take a one-hour workshop based on your chosen Shakespeare play.
The National Theatre is a must for anyone spending time in London – its iconic brutalist block exterior gives way to a fascinating interspersion of three theatres, exhibitions, restaurants and multi-layered foyer. It has a prime location on the South Bank and performances include classical and modern plays, musicals and plenty of Shakespeare.
Synonymous with 80s London, the studios were opened by dancer Debbie Moore with the aim of making dance approachable to everyone. They are regularly used for TV and film rehearsals. Students can take classes or workshops in a range of styles from ballet to contemporary, eastern, jazz, Latin, martial arts, singing, acting, street dance, hip hop, tap and yoga.
Take a tour of this historic entertainment venue and catch the excitement as it prepares for the evening’s performance. An engaging guide brings to life the Royal Albert Hall’s fascinating history and shares some of its secrets. The tour covers all Front of House areas including the stunning auditorium, the gallery and the Royal private suites.
